eth_signTransaction

Signs a transaction with the key of an account held by the node, without sending it.

Parameters

Parameters are positional, in the order below.

Transaction	Transaction object	Yes	The transaction to sign. See the fields below.

Transaction fields

Field	Meaning
from	Address of the account that signs and sends the transaction
to	Recipient address; omit to deploy a contract
gas	Gas limit as a hexadecimal quantity
maxFeePerGas, maxPriorityFeePerGas	EIP-1559 fee caps as hexadecimal quantities; or gasPrice for a legacy transaction
value	Amount in wei as a hexadecimal quantity
data	Call data or contract creation code as hexadecimal bytes
nonce	Account nonce as a hexadecimal quantity; filled in by the node if omitted

Return value

The signed transaction as hexadecimal bytes, ready for eth_sendRawTransaction.
